was serving onboard the USS Saratoga, when Jennifer was killed during the battle of Wolf359 in early 2367.

Sisko was then assigned to the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards on Mars, where he served for 3 years. He was then promoted to Commander and given command of Deep Space 9 in 2369. Shortly after his posting to Deep Space Nine, Sisko made contact with "The Prophets" and as a result was informed by Kai Opaka that he was to be "The Emissary". Commander Sisko was promoted to Captain on Stardate 48959.1

COLONEL KIRA NERYS
is the communications Officer on Deep Space Nine, and the negotiator between Deep Space Nine, the Federation and Bajor. She was a member of the Bajoran underground and worked as a terrorist. Long before she got the job to supervise Bajoren interests on Deep Space Nine, she sabotaged an ore mining department onboard the station.

She is a well trained pilot and a fine warrior. Kira oposes the Federation presence, although she helps and works with the Federation crew. She was involved with Vedek Berile, the next to be Kai, a spirtual leader of Bajor. She opposes the new Kai, Kai Win. She has a great leading ability and charisma, as she has proved many times. Despite her violent nature, she is a woman of sensetivity and intellect, and according to the old Kai, Opaka, has to stop being violent and to look inside her soul.

CONSTABLE ODO
is the chief of security on Deep Space Nine and a Changeling. He can assume any form he likes, which helps him in his line of work. He was first found in the Denorious belt floting in space. He was brought to Bajor and was thought to come from the Gamma Quadrent. He was investigated and studied in his liquid form, until one day he assumed a form of an imperfect human. Odo decends from a race known as the Founders, and played a major role in the
Dominion negotiation. Odo is currently inloved with Major Kira Nerys.

LIEUTENANT COMMANDER WORF
is the son of Mogh and he was born on the Klingon homeworld. His natural parents died in a Romulan attack at the Khitomer outpost soon after the alliance between the Federation and the Klingon Empire was formed. Then he was adopted by Sergey and Helena Rozhenko. Sergey was one of the Federation's rescue team that arrived at the outpost after the Romulan's attack.

Worf graduated from the Academy and was the first Klingon to enter Starfleet. Worf was assigned as flight control officer on board the U.S.S. Enterprise. He was promoted to Chief of Security when Natasha Yar was killed. Shortly after the destruction of the Enterprise-D, Worf was transfered, at the request of Commander Sisko, to Deep Space Nine. Worf had been recently married to Jadzia Dax, until her untimly death.

GARAK
the very resourceful and knowledgable tailor on the Promenade of Deep Space Nine, is the only remaining Cardassian on the space station. The reasons for his decision to stay and live in exile, after the withdrawal of his people from Bajor, are often shrouded in mystery and speculation. Although, after collecting clues here and there in the series, one comes to know these reasons. He was apparently exiled from Cardassia after serving with the ruthless Obsidian Order, and being accused with a crime
he did not commit.

Garak is completely enigmatic, and at times he can be utterly charming and articulate, and he posses a great intellect. Most lunch times he can be found enjoying a meal and lively conversation with Doctor Bashir,
sharing their passion for the arts. In darker moments the Cardassian reveals a cold, calculating ruthlessness, which is totally self serving. His lies are woven into such intricate webs that others are quite unable to distinguish exactly when he may be telling the truth.

QUARK
is the Ferengi bartender on DS9. The Ferengi race, as seen in The Next Generation, are ugly, sexist, greedy little aliens who are interested only in profit and getting theirs hands on anything of yours they happen to fancy. Quark runs many of the entertainment concessions on DS9.

He has a bar, a restaurant, a gambling house (dabo), and the holosuites upstairs where your every fantasy can be played out. He spends most of his time behind the bar. If there is some scam being run in the sector it often involves him. But beyond that, he is a charming host, in a Ferengi sort of way. He forges interesting relationships with Captain Sisko and Constable Odo.

He lends a hand to dissolve problems as long as there's something in it for him. His completely sexist attitude makes Kira an obvious adversary and he was consumed with passion for Dax.

Deep Space Nine was originally a Cardassian space station called: Terok Norr. It was built during the Cardassian
occupation of Bajor. It is orbiting Bajor in a synchronic orbit. After the Cardassian retreat, the Federatian began to place a presence on Deep Space 9, mostly to help the Bajorans. The worm hole brings lots of adventures and strange travelers to the station, so it becomes the most important station in the quadrant.

It is vital for Starfleet to explore the Gamma Quadrant, and also to help the Bajorans. The station's style is a Cardassian style, and the computers are also Cardassian. On the upper part of the operations center, a commiunications array is located. It is used for establishing communications with and threw the wormhole, and also for monitoring the Jem'Hadar.

LIEUTENANT COMMANDER JADZIA DAX
The biography of Jadzia Dax has to take two parts; that about the symbiot "Dax" who is around 300 years old and has had a number of hosts over the years, and that of the humanoid Trill woman, Jadzia. The symbiot has a colorful history, having been joined to no less than seven other hosts including a murderer. The host before Jadzia was Curzon Dax, a great mentor of Benjamin Sisko in his youth. Jadzia was an attractive and brilliant young woman who worked very hard to get accepted for the Trill joining program.

She was thrown out of the programe after a poor report from Curzon Dax during the initiate assessment. She was then reaccepted into the programe in an unprecedented move and finally became the host to Dax when Curzon died. Sadly, Jadzia was killed during an attack at the Bajoran Temple onboard Deep Space Nine, by an evil Bajoran God inhabitating the body of Gul Dukat. The symbiot known as Dax
now inhabits the body of Ezri.

DOCTOR JULIAN BASHIR
A hotshot medical student sent to Deep Space Nine fresh out of Starfleet academy medical school, is initially rather unpopular with the rest of the crew. He has a major chip on his shoulder about not being the best in his class.

While on Deep Space Nine, he's had the opportunity to do some basic research and has become quite an expert on treating a wide range of alien species. He is good friends with Miles O'Brien and they enjoy playing darts and visiting the hollow suites.

He tried, unsuccesfully, to revive Jadzia Dax after she was attacked and killed onboard Deep Space Nine.

MILES EDWARD O'BRIEN
was born on Earth in Ireland. He has a unique talent for all things mechanical and so studied advanced engineering at the Academy. He has served on the USS Rutledge with Captain Benjamin Maxwell as tactical officer. He never forgot the encounter they had on Setlik III with the Cardassians. It left him shaken and gave him a deep hatred for the Cardassians for what they did, and that he had to kill to defend the survivors.

After the Setlik III massacre, he was reassigned to the Enterprise-D. First, he served as Bridge Conn, then he was promoted to Transporter Chief and he became a transporter specialist. When Miles was on board the Enterprise, he married Keiko Ishikawa (introduced to him by Lt Cmdr Data) and they had a daughter, Molly (delivered by Worf!). Finally, he was assigned to Deep Space 9 as Chief Operations Officer.

JAKE SISKO
is the son of Captain Benjamin Sisko, the Commanding Officer of the space station Deep Space Nine. He does not remember much about life on Earth, since he's been aboard starships and on different planets during his father's career. He has a constant inner fear of forming new friendships since he looses them so quickly.

He collects holodeck programs of various places on Earth. When they arrived on DS9, his father promised there would be other kids on the station. As it turns out, there are only a handful of various alien species. Only one other is approximately his own age, and that is Nog, a Ferengi teenage boy who was considered bad influence for a time by his father.

Besides that, he is close with his dad. For a time O'Brien tried to teach Jake about DS9's engineering systems, but now Jake wants to become a writer.
